This pair of old Texas Cowboy Spurs marked 'Kelly Bros, received 51 bids when it sold July 24, 2011. According to the seller's listing; the spurs were Special Order silver mounted spurs which were made and marked by 'Kelly Bros', to celebrate the 1936 Texas Centennial. They had silver mounted Texas steer heads, with the word 'Texas' spelled out in four places. The silver rowel pin covers were engraved years '1836" and '1936' on both spurs. The four silver button covers were each engraved with the number '100'. Both spurs measured 8.5 inches long. American history buffs love old spurs, because they represent such a substantial part of U.S. history.
