Ferrari Manual Bids Stall @ $9,101

Bidding fell short (reserve not met) at $9,100 for this rare vintage Ferrari Owners Manual on August 6, 2011.

The manual, for a Ferrari 250 model (manufactured between 1953 and 1964) is considered to be one of Ferrari's most successful and collectible car lines. The Ferrari 250 California Spyder in particular can fetch multi-million dollar bids.

In spite of not selling, the auction does provide a great example of how a secondary accessory item, or even parts for rare collectibles, can sometimes hold tremendous value among collectors. Especially when that collector's bought a million dollar item, and needs something (i.e., a missing manual) to complete it.
