(Source: WhatSellsBest.com) - A bidding-war fetched $8,200 for a rare vintage Ferrari manual auctioned on eBay. The auction provided another great example of how rare item parts can sometimes hold tremendous value for high-end collectors.

See the auction on eBay

The manual, described by the seller as a; "vintage 1962 Ferrari 250 Granturismo Leather Pouch Set with original owners manuals and booklets," was sold on eBay (by the seller) for a Sedona estate.

It's not the first-time we've seen a Ferrari manual reach these levels. In October 2011, bidding for another vintage Ferrari (250) manual rose to $9,101. That manual did not sell, because the sellers reserve price was not met.

Nonetheless, both auctions still provide great examples of how secondary accessories and/or parts for rare items can hold tremendous value for collectors. Especially when it involves a million dollar item that needs something (i.e., a missing manual) for completion.

eBay WebsiteFerrari 250 models manufactured between 1953 and 1964, are considered to be one of Ferrari's most successful and collectible car lines.

In 2010, a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder sold on eBay with a final bid of $3.2 Million (shown on left). In another auction, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider was sold at a Pebble Beach Auction for $4.65 Million by Gooding & Company, August 16, 2009. (see video below).
