The Snowboard, was described by the seller as an original Burton 140 Performer "Black Widow" Experimental Series. Made in 1983 and ridden by Burton Team rider, Bob Novak.
The seller also stated (in the listing) Novak had signed the board which was only 1 of 7 produced for the team. Adding; "The last time this board was used Bob (Novak) took 1st Place in the downhill @ Pando Ski Area in 1984."
This is the second-time in the past year that we've tracked a Burton exceeding five-figures.
In March of 2012, another vintage Burton fetched a final bid of $11,211 on eBay.
That board was described as a 'BB1 Londonderry' made between 1978 and 1979. According to the seller it appeared to have never been ridden and in mint condition. (see the full story here)
