(Source: WhatSellsBest.com) - A rare Nintendo video game cartridge (Bandai - Family Fun Fitness - Stadium Events) has sold for $35,100 in an eBay auction.

The video game was described by the eBay seller as being in excellent/near mint condition. The following excerpt is from the eBay auction.

"listing is for a complete, excellent+/near mint, sealed copy of the game and the one of few to ever be sent to the Video Game Authority in Roswell, Georgia for official grading, verification and authentication. • Once the game arrived safely, the professionals at VGA gently cleaned the item, verified it, graded it and sealed it in a professional quality acrylic case where it will remain for the rest of its life."

Why's It Valuable?

Stadium Events was originally by a company named Bandai in 1987.

Shortly thereafter (1988), Nintendo bought the rights to the game and re-released it as World Class Track Meet.

Because of this, it's believed only 2000 copies of Stadium Events were ever made.

From the 2000 copies, it's estimated only 200 copies reached the public before the game was recalled.

Today, it's thought that fewer than 20 complete copies of the game exist, with only two believed to be still factory sealed. That makes this game extremely rare.
