ONLINE - A single 'crumbling' Nike shoe made for Back To The Future II in 1989, has fetched $92,100 in a 10-day eBay auction.
The following 2-minute video by CNN, tells the story of the original Nike "Air Mag" with automatic shoelaces, as well as the later remake of the shoe for consumers.
The shoe, "cracking and crumbling" and "extremely fragile (it is deteriorating and should not be handled)," was how the condition was described by the seller, in the eBay listing.
Still, it didn't seem to dampen the spirits of the 77 bidders who placed 220 bids, before the final bid of $92,100 (eBay item number: 273306981350).
Let's hope they handle it carefully.
