BELGIUM - Three classic Bugattis and one vintage Citroen found in a barn could garner as much as $1 million at the upcoming Artcurial Motorcars auction in France.

Matthew Lamoure, General Manager of Artcurial Motorcars, must have been intrigued when he was contacted by an old sculptor’s daughters, who told him they had old vehicles on their property. Intrigued enough to come out to the property in Belgium with a team and remove 200 sandbags and a modern car to get a peek inside the barn.

While the cars had sat in the barn for many decades, the barn had been barricaded shut for 15 years.

They finally opened the doors to discover: Bugatti 57 Graber Cabriolet, a Bugatti 49 faux-coupe Gangloff, a Bugatti 40, and a Citroen 5HP “Trefle”. Matthew expressed shock at how well preserved the vehicles were.

According to Elizabeth Puckett, reporting for MSN, the sculptor, Guus Thomassen, had originally purchased them for their beautiful lines.

Reportedly, the cars will be sold as a part of Artcurial's 2019 Rétromobile event on the Friday, February 8.
